The Young Leader

Are you between the age of 13 – 23?

The book “The Young Leader” describes how young people can increase their influence with people of all ages by building trust and creating strong relationships.

Trust is the foundation of leadership, and without trust it is impossible to lead our people. Without trust we cannot influence.

As you spend the time going through this book, you will see huge benefits that hard workers and dreamers deserve. Young people who are in their teens or 20s and not in leadership positions, who are in school, college, university or have a job right now are not valued enough. That needs to change.

At the moment in the world, leadership development only seems to begin when we leave school or university and start working.

A lot of organisations don’t start their leadership development until their people are in leadership positions (e.g. supervisor, team leader or manager). Leadership has nothing to do with job titles or management positions.

We all have the ability to influence no matter what age we are, so therefore we all have the ability to lead. Anybody can be a leader from any position within their life.

This book describes examples from the author Tom Lawrence, and of people who were leaders and didn’t have positions of power within an organisation. They had the ability to build a strong relationship with people when they were in their teens or 20s.

They built trust with people and hence increased their influence with them. People followed them because they wanted to, not because they had to. They were respected because of who they are, not because they had a job title of manager or supervisor.

As you continue reading, you will start to feel motivated to make that difference in other young people’s lives and in your own life. You will feel and think differently as you go through this book and see a brighter future for yourself and for others in your life.

This book will help you to realise just how much potential you have and how you can reach it.
